Haryana State Pollution Control Board Certificate

Haryana State Pollution Control Board Certification: In 1974, the Union Government of India enacted a law, known as the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, to prevent and control the level of pollution in water bodies. Subsequently, on 19-09-1974, the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) Certification was constituted. Later, to regulate and monitor pollution in the air, the Parliament of the Indian Union enacted one more law, known as the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) was entrusted to implement the on-ground practices and procedures by exercising the powers given by the above-mentioned two laws and also subsequent laws and amendments.

Objectives of Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB)

  • The Haryana State Pollution Control Board is mandated to prevent and control pollution at the source of origination as specified by the techno-economic feasibility study of the liquid effluents as well as gaseous emissions.
  • HSPCB is expected to make sure that natural water bodies as well as ground water is not polluted by discharge of untreated residential sewage.
  • The Haryana State Pollution Control Board is to put in efforts for maximum reuse / recycling of sewage and trade effluents and to utilise this treated water for land irrigation and for industrial purposes.
  • It is also mandated to minimize pollution control requirements by planned allotment of spaces for new industries and relocation of old highly polluting industries wherever necessary.
